Burning Skies

Project Introduction
‘Burning Skies’ was a collaborative design project to design an aerial combat game with myself and a team of other students across different games design disciplines.
My responsibilities included:
- Prototype and implement game mechanics using 3D models and other assets
- Implement particle systems and textures for mechanics such as damage and stealth abilities
- Design and implement enemy AI
- Create UI for menus and player HUD

Mechanics I implemented for the end project included:
- Different Firing Modes
- A Deployable Turret
- Homing Missile Systems
- Enemy AI
- Invisibility Mechanic
- Shield Mechanic
- Player Health Systems
- Ammunition System
- UI (Including Live Tutorial UI and Menus)

The main challenge with this project was the amount of mechanics that had to be created within a small timeframe.
This had to be done in co-operation with the design, modelling and animation teams.
In general, the largest learning point for this project was working to the specifications of other departments within the group.
